On February 27, 2024, from 17:00-18:30 Nairobi time, CBCGDF hosted a Green Room event on the theme of " Biodiversity in Our Neighborhood Biodiversity: Human-based Solutions to Nature Crisis" at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Dr. Zhou Jinfeng first introduced the origin of CBCGDF. He then took examples of CBCGDF conservation area animals such as the great bustard, oriental white stork, Mongolian gazelle, dugong and Chinese honeybee, and talked about vivid cases of people's participation in the process of biodiversity conservation through the establishment of species zones.

Next, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng talked about the #PeopleWarPlastic project. Through the three reports, brands and industries are urged to pay more attention to the plastic waste problem of their products, and companies and people can be motivated to participate in this work. The project aims to mitigate marine plastic waste pollution, reduce the amount of plastic waste in China's coasts, rivers and seas, improve the marine ecosystem, protect marine biodiversity, and contribute to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Finally, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng talked about the four civilizations the world has experienced and how people's participation is crucial to sustainable development.

The CBCGDF delegation will continue to bring insightful news from the conference.
