CBCGDF Recommends the Law on Climate Change be Formulated and Enacted As Soon As Possible | CBCGDF Proposals to 2024 “Two Sessions”

The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) held the “2024 Proposal Meeting for the Two Sessions” on February 1, 2024.The "Two Sessions" Proposal Working Group of CBCGDF welcomes active suggestions from all sectors of society to provide more high-quality suggestions for promoting biodiversity conservation and green development.

 

The meeting invited many representatives National People's Congress representatives and members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference who are concerned about ecological environment resources, health, pollution control, and environmental legal construction. The meeting was live streamed with a total of 157,000 online attendees.

 


At the meeting, the Policy and Law Department of CBCGDF shared the suggestion of " Law on Climate Change ", and analyzed and explained it in combination with international and domestic environmental situation. The core content is to suggest adding relevant content to address climate change in the process of formulating and revising legal regulations in areas such as ecological environment protection, natural resource protection, energy management, land and space development, and urban-rural planning and construction; and building a coherent unified legal system for addressing climate change. Meanwhile, provisions should be specified and detailed on accountability to ensure operability in addressing climate change.
