Jinfeng Zhou Participates in 20th Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum | UNEA-6 Observation

From February 24 to 25, 2024, the 20th Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF 20) convened in Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Jinfeng Zhou, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), led a delegation to participate in this important global forum.

GMGSF 20, accredited by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), provided representatives from major groups and stakeholders with the opportunity to prepare their positions, statements, and opinions for the upcoming 6th United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), including formal meetings and negotiations. Serving as an open and engaging platform for civil society involvement, GMGSF 20 played a crucial role in preparing major groups and stakeholders for the 6th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), with its theme focused on "Effective, Inclusive, and Sustainable Multilateral Action Against Climate Change, Biodiversity Loss, and Pollution."

Dr. Jinfeng Zhou noted during GMGSF that there's a relatively lower representation of Asians, especially from China. This observation sparked a little bit concern. Dr. Zhou expressed the hope for increased participation from Chinese civil society, highlighting the importance of contributing an oriental perspective to global environmental dialogues.
