CBCGDF Expert Comments on Artificial Snow Augmentation in Arid Desert Area

Recently, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) OceanWetlands Working Group received an article from CBCGDF expert Ms. CHAI Erhong, entitled "Artificial Snow Augmentation in Arid Desert Areas - A Blind Man Lights a Lamp in vain". The abstract of the article as follows:

The cold wave moves southward, and warm and moist water vapor from the southwest is transported to the northwest. So in the northwest region, planes, rockets, and smoke stoves all came together to artificially add snow, which was said to have "effectively improved the ecological environment." Even the Taklimakan Desert was covered in snow.

People in arid areas know that snowfall does increase air humidity. However, its still early for spring to bloom! In the next long months, most of the snow will be sublimated silently, that is, the solid state will directly become a gaseous state and gradually disappear, and very little water will melt and penetrate into the soil, because With hardened roads and permafrost blocking the way, almost no water can penetrate deep into the ground.
