CBCGDF Volunteer reports | The Hidden Problem of Skiing Craze

Recently, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received a letter from received a letter from the volunteers. The ski resort in the Tianhengshan Scenic Area in Harbin has extensively deforested the area due to expansion. This has resulted in a significant reduction in forest coverage, causing concerns among the local residents about the impact on the ecological environment.

Relevant data records that Tianheng Mountain is the only natural mountain in the suburbs of Harbin City, with an altitude between 120 and 215 meters. It is located in Daowai District, Harbin City, and has a forest vegetation coverage of more than 70%.

According to clues, this ski resort located in the Tianheng Mountain Scenic Area originally had several ski trails, it could already meet the daily reception volume of the ski resort. However, the ski resort operators are still expanding ski trails and cutting down a large number of trees.

Volunteers believe that the mountains in Harbin are precious. However, the unlimited expansion of ski resorts will have a huge adverse impact on the ecological system.

Since the Winter Olympics were held in China, skiing and other winter sports have developed rapidly. Achieving a balance between ecological environment conservation and economic development still needs further efforts. The CBCGDF will continuously pay further attention to and verify the issues reported by volunteers.

(Note: The clues in this article were provided by volunteers. The authenticity of the situation needs to be further verified by the relevant authorities.)
