In response to the environmental violations committed by Maotai Town Golden Sauce Liquor Industry Co., Ltd. in Renhuai City, Guizhou Province, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has announced a nationwide call for new plaintiffs in the environmental public interest lawsuit against the company.
The CBCGDF, also known as the China Green Development Foundation, is committed to halting environmental violations and safeguarding public interests. The foundation aims to actively engage environmental organizations across the country in its efforts to address the misconduct of Maotai Town Golden Sauce Liquor Industry Co., Ltd. The focus is on recruiting new plaintiffs for the environmental civil public interest lawsuit.

BACKGROUND INFO:
Maotai Town Golden Sauce Liquor Industry Co., Ltd., (贵州省仁怀市茅台镇金酱酒业有限公司) located in Renhuai City, Guizhou Province, has been involved in multiple environmental violations, including:
On April 20, 2022, fined RMB 290,000 by Zunyi City Ecological Environment Bureau Renhuai Sub-bureau for the illegal commencement of construction without obtaining approval for the environmental impact assessment document.
On June 18, 2020, fined RMB 150,000 by Zunyi City Ecological Environment Bureau for inadequate measures in handling cellar bottom water and leakage into the Shiba River.
On March 24, 2022, fined RMB 449,115.7 by Renhuai City Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau for illegal land occupation, including the restoration of 38,277.6 square meters of forest land. Additionally, the company was named in the second round of the Central Ecological Environment Protection Inspection Report Implementation Plan for illegal land occupation since 2020, with the company failing to cease its illegal activities even after being penalized twice before the inspection.
