Dr Zhou Jinfeng Interviewed by CGTN | Countdown to the Sixth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly

 As the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) is about to start in Nairobi, Kenya, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Vice President and Secretary General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), will lead the CBCGDF delegation to Nairobi attend the event. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng was interviewed by CGTN on February 21, 2024. Regarding the theme of the conference, Dr Zhou shared his insight on how to deal with the triple planetary crises.

In the interview, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng introduced the main agenda and focus of the CBCGDF delegation's participation in the UNEA-6. He emphasized the importance of this conference for global environmental issues and shared CBCGDF's experience and achievements in biodiversity conservation and green development.

 

Dr Zhou Jinfeng gave insights on how to deal with the current triple planetary crises, emphasizing the need for the international community to work together and take practical actions to mitigate climate change, reduce pollution, and protect ecosystems. He mentioned that China, as the world's largest developing country, is actively promoting green development and striving to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality targets.

 

Discussing the challenges of biodiversity, Dr Zhou Jinfeng emphasized the importance of ecological balance and called on all countries to work together to protect and restore biodiversity. He shared CBCGDF's projects and initiatives in biodiversity conservation, encouraging the international community to strengthen cooperation and work together to address the pressures on global ecosystems.
