CBCGDF Legal Working Group Suggest Pinduoduo to Remove Conophytum | CBCGDF Clean Internet For Conophytum
To jointly build a community of life on Earth, improve biodiversity, and combat illegal trade in wildlife, CBCGDF launched Clean Internet for Conophytum action on March 9, 2023. The aim is to enhance scientific knowledge and public awareness of the endangered status of Conophytum, call on people not to purchase Conophytum, and call on online platforms to remove it. This activity has received praise and support from a large number of netizens, and multiple e-commerce platforms have actively responded by closing the Conophytum trading section.
Recently, volunteers discovered multiple businesses selling Conophytum in Pinduoduo. To protect the Earth of all living beings, combat illegal trade in wild plants, assist CITES in fulfilling its obligations, assist domestic and foreign law enforcement agencies in cracking down on illegal trade in wild animals and plants caused by the internet, and jointly build a community of life on Earth, CBCGDF urges Pinduoduo to take account suspension measures against users selling Conophytum, to reduce the risk of illegal theft of Conophytum and effectively fulfil its social responsibility to protect biodiversity.
