Calling Attention to the Mental Condition of the Elephant in Beijing Zoo

On January 14, 2024, at the Beijing Zoo, an elephant was kept in a small space and kept hitting the wall. Its mental state is very worrying. Some say it has been like this since 2022, but the zoo has never addressed the issue.

The poor elephant was kept in a small cage and he kept banging on the door. After walking twenty or thirty meters from the elephant house, people could still hear the crashing sound inside. In 2022, some people said that the elephant in the Beijing Zoo hit the door, and it has not been solved for more than two years. It's really pathetic and not in good shape.

We hope relevant parties will verify whether the situation is true. If true, this is related to issues of zoo management and animal welfare, and it also triggers our thinking about animal protection rights.
