Integration of Research and Industry in Control of Desertification | CBCGDF Secretary General Dr.Zhou Jinfeng has a Discussion with Najing University Professor Ma

Desertification control has become a worldwide problem.

On January 24th, Professor Ma Hao of Nanjing Agricultural University visited the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and communicated with Dr Zhou Jinfeng on the topic of technology research and development application of Apocynum venetum and promotion of desertification control.

Professor Ma Hao focused on research, development and achievements in the two areas of "one sand, one hemp".

One sand refers to the " Aeolian sand resource utilization and functional modification technology " to achieve the utilization of Aeolian sand resources. Prof Ma’s team through the modification of sand processing, successfully used as an inorganic filler sand and polymer materials combined in construction materials, transportation pallets, packaging boxes and tubes and other fields.

One hemp, on the other hand, refers to Apocynum venetum, named for the original born in Xinjiang Lop Nur and the surrounding areas. Prof Ma’s team has formed a complete " planting - peeling - fiber degumming - textile processing - product marketing" industrial value chain of the Apocynum venetum, and constantly planting more than 20,000 acres of Apocynum venetum in the desert areas, and developed a series of textile products.

Both Dr Zhou and Prof Ma discussed the public welfare + commercial operation mode, to promote more enterprises and individuals to actively join the public welfare cause of sand control.
