CBCGDF Volunteer and Law Enforcement Officer Fell into the Frozen River while Fighting against Illegal Fishing, Fortunately Rescued

Starting from early December 2023, in order to crack down on illegal fishing during the ice-free period and maintain the order of fishery production and the balance of the ecosystem, volunteers from the Suihua Wetland Conservation Area of the China Biodiversity and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) and the Qing'an County Fishery Law Enforcement Team have been conducting continuous fishing operations in the Qing'an County section of the Hulan River Basin to carry out fishery protection work.

On January 11,2024, CBCGDF volunteers cooperated with local fishery law enforcement officers on patrol. When they arrived at the Hulan River section in Beilin District, due to the cold weather and slippery ice, the captain of the fishery law enforcement team, the volunteer team leader, together with a patrol car fell into the river! Many staff members and CBCGDF volunteers quickly came to rescue and transport them to safety. The vehicles were also salvaged through various methods.
