An Injured Sika Deer Successfully Rescued in CBCGDF Sika Deer Conservation Area in Dalian | CBCGDF CCAFA & Animal Rescue
Recently, when the director of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Sika Deer Conservation Area in Dalian was patrolling, he discovered that a female sika deer (Cervus nippon) was in abnormal condition: the deer had a metal hoop on its foot, making it unstable and limping.
If the metal hoop cannot be removed in time, the sika deer will not only suffer leg injuries (showing signs of bleeding), but may also endanger its life. Therefore, the director immediately asked for help from all parties, hoping to rescue the injured deer as soon as possible.
After learning about this situation, a caring person came quickly with his professional rescue team. While ensuring the safety of the deer, they carefully removed the metal hoop from its feet, stopped bleeding, disinfected and bandaged the wound. The deer seemed to be aware that everyone was trying to rescue it, and has been cooperating with the professionals very quietly. Soon, the metal hoop was finally successfully removed.
After the post-injury treatment, the condition of the deer improved significantly. It stood up again and staggered into the woods.
