CBCGDF Volunteers Share Experience: How to Identify Illegal Hunting

Volunteers from China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) have rich experience in field patrols.

The loss of biodiversity is inextricably linked to the large-scale illegal hunting of wild animals by humans. Many enthusiastic people who love wildlife and volunteers on the front line want to contribute to biodiversity conservation by assisting relevant departments to combat illegal hunting in the wild, but they often have no idea how to correctly judge, track, obtain and retain evidence. Without a systematic understanding, illegal poachers often "get away with it."

So, what details should be paid attention to when identifying the whereabouts of suspected illegal hunting of wild animals and cleaning illegal hunting tools? In this regard, CBCGDF volunteer Hua Qiu, who has rich experience in wildlife conservation, summarized his experience and now shares it with everyone.

First of all, we should look at the means of transportation, and secondly, look at the footprints left by hunters and the traps designed. If you find suspicious people on the scene, you should call the police in time, etc.
