Control the Preventive Use of Pesticides | CBCGDF Submitted Suggestions on the “Management Measures for Urban Parks (Draft for Comments)”

Recently, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development FoundationCBCGDF has carefully studied and integrated the opinions and suggestions of multiple experts to propose 20 suggestions on the “Management Measures for Urban Parks (Draft for Comments)” .

Regarding the “Management Measures for Urban Parks (Draft for Comments)” , the Legal Working Committee of CBCGDF has made suggestions regarding the widespread use of pesticides (such as insecticides) in the daily management and maintenance of urban parks:

1. It is recommended that urban parks control the amount of pesticides (insecticides, etc.) used.

2. The preventive use chemical insecticides is not allowed before a disaster occurs, and pesticides use and management can be implemented after a disaster occurs.

3. Priority should be given to selecting pesticides that are harmless to human health and environmentally friendly.

Parks are places where people exercise and rest in their daily lives. If the use of pesticides, insecticides and so on is not controlled, it may cause potential harm to the public. In addition, reducing the use of pesticides is also beneficial for the restoration of natural ecology and biodiversity, including the survival of birds.
