A 6.2-m Earthquake Occurred in Gansu, and CBCGDF’s Disaster Relief Supplies Arrived in the Earthquake-stricken Area In time

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake jolted Jishishan county of Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture in Northwest China's Gansu province, at 23:59 pm on December 18, 2023 (Beijing Time), according to China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was monitored at 35.7 degrees north latitude and 102.79 degrees east longitude, the CENC said.

After the earthquake, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) immediately contacted the Gansu Provincial Pre-Earthquake Headquarters to learn about the disaster situation and urgently needed relief supplies. The earthquake-stricken area is located in a high-altitude area, and it is now the deep winter season. The weather in the disaster-stricken area is cold, and the centralized resettlement sites are in urgent need of a large amount of daily necessities, especially vegetables, cotton-padded clothes, etc. CBCGDF immediately prepared supplies and sent 20 tons of fresh vegetables to the earthquake-stricken areas in Gansu on December 21.
