After Two Years, the Green Economy and GEP Automatic Accounting Platform of Pu 'er City was Initially Built

Recently, the Research Office of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and the technical team of the Ecological Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences held a working meeting to finish the research and development and construction of the green economy and GEP automatic accounting platform in Pu’er City, Yunnan Province. Up to now, the relevant research and development team has spent two years, and has basically completed the construction of the green economy and GEP automatic accounting platform in Pu 'er City. 

 


During the meeting, the CBCGDF Research Office and the technical team responsible for developing this automatic accounting platform discussed the remaining 2-3 data in the construction of the platform. The calculation formula of water resource loss value in the green economy accounting part, the emission concentration of major pollutants in the environment and ecological efficiency part, and the treatment methods of bonus and deduction items in the green economy evaluation part were confirmed. The technicians of both sides are pleased that, after two years, the research and development of the green economy and GEP automatic accounting platform in Pu’er City has come to an end.

 


After Shenzhen, Zhejiang Lishui, Beijing and other places, Pu’er City is another area that will implement the automatic accounting of green economy and GEP.

 

In fact, since around 2018, China has begun to explore how to transform the ecological value of natural resources into quantifiable economic value, and this research has led to the development of GEP accounting in China. Since then, Shenzhen, Beijing, Zhejiang, and Pu’er and other places have begun to try GEP value accounting. The green economy evaluation index system is a set of evaluation indexes developed by CBCGDF considering the relationship between the total regional economic value and resource loss, as well as resource use efficiency, environment and ecological efficiency. Up to now, nearly 20 provinces and cities in China have tried and introduced GEP accounting technical specifications, but only a few provinces in China can achieve automatic calculation of green economy and GEP accounting.
