CBCGDF-BCON: Urban parks management should be guided by the idea of "ecological civilization" and "promoting green development through biodiversity conservation"

Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has issued a notice on the public consultation on the "Measures for the Management of Urban Parks (Draft for Comments)" to widely solicit opinions, in order to promote the development of urban parks and improve the urban ecology and human environment. The "Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood" Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF-BCON) responded positively to the call, and after serious discussion, put forward 8 suggestions in total for reference in its scientific decision-making. The following is [Recommendation 1].

[Recommendation 1] In [Article 1], it is proposed to add "To promote green development through biodiversity conservation, and ecological civilization construction ".

[Reason] To implement the spirit of our leader's speech at the high-level meeting of the second phase of the fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) held in Montreal, Canada, in December 2022, there is an urgent need to promote green development through the conservation of biodiversity. [Article 1] serves as a strategic objective and guiding ideology, and plays the role of an outline. Therefore, this part should fully embody the core of biodiversity conservation and take ecological civilization as the guiding ideology, so as to better promote the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, to help mainstream biodiversity conservation and build a shared future for all life on Earth.

(Please stay tuned for more recommendations.)
