CBCGDF 2023 Science Popularization Work Summary

 1. Science Popularization System Construction and Work Assessment

China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has published more than 4,199 articles on the “China Science Communication”, with more than 2.97 million reads; the #CGCGDF brand has 45 new media promotion platforms, with a total number of platform fans of 2.45 million, of which Weibo has more than 533,000 followers and Baijiahao has 360,000. Over 763 international and domestic conferences have been broadcast live, with a total of 450,000 viewers; 23,529 short videos have been viewed more than 420 million times. Besides, CBCGDF also carries out multiple journal editing and book publishing.

 

2. Activity Planning and Output

CBCGDF works on carrying out emergency science popularization work for social hot spots, biodiversity conservation and green development, and actively participates in National Science Popularization Day. CBCGDF launches 2023 National Science and Technology Week activities; carries out a series of science popularization activities associated with important environmental festivals like Earth Day; helps universities and enterprises in green transformation; carries out scientific research and standard development work; calls for “Peoples vs. Plastics” action; organizes, hosts and undertakes a series of international conferences in the field of ecological environment. Its Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhoods (BCON) selected as the world’s top 50 solutions.

3. Build a Multi-dimensional Ecological and Environmental Protection Science Education Base

CBCGDF continues to strengthen the protected area system; uses the concept of BCON to create an environment where humans and nature coexist harmoniously; and establishes "Eco-Civilization Sites", "Low Carbon Workshop" and "Green Youth Base" to support sustainable development.

4. International Scientific and Technological Talent Exchange

Till now, CBCGDF joined about 42 international organizations, and 16 international major science programs, and recommended a total of 25 Chinese science and technology experts and youth to international organizations, United Nations conventions, etc., and 25 experts hold high-level positions.
