Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood Demo Site: The SOIL SOLUTION,Gambia

 On December 11, 2023, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) identified The Soil Solution, Gambia as the Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood Demo Site.

 


"The Soil Solution, Gambia", as a social organization registered in Gambia, is committed to protecting and providing suitable soil and providing plants with sufficient nutrients and water sources to vigorously promote the achievement of food security, adaptation and mitigation of climate change. The efforts are therefore closely linked to national, continental and global frameworks for desertification control and biodiversity conservation and have been recognized by many United Nations agencies.

 


In order to promote the protection of neighborhood biodiversity, in recent years, CBCGDF has specially launched a demonstration construction system for neighborhood biodiversity protection. This system includes promoting the construction of "Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood Demo Site" and "Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood Areas", etc. It aims to discover the best practices for effectively protecting biodiversity in areas with intensive human activities, taking into account both protection and development, and coordinating sustainable livelihoods and biodiversity protection, so as to further practice green development and contribute to the construction of ecological civilization.
