ZHOU Jinfeng Visited TESFEC Association during the Paris Peace Forum and Discussed Cooperation

On the afternoon of November 14, 2023, Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, visited Association Transition Ecologique et Solidaire en France et en Chine (TESFEC), and discussed cooperation projects with Ms. WANG Linjie, President of the Association and other people.

Ms. Wang said that the cooperation between China and France in the ecological and environmental protection industry has a long history, and TESFEC has been committed to promoting the ecological transformation and sustainable development between China and France, promoting cultural and technological exchanges, and promoting cooperation and green innovation. The TESFEC Association has also been working on Biodiversity Conservation in our Neighborhood (BCON). Its Asia Food Forest Project is a unique and pioneering experimental project, which aims to promote cultural exchanges between Chinese and French people, dialogue between Chinese and French enterprises, and community integration and solidarity through urban forest ecological agriculture jointly built by residents. TESFEC brings together professionals in the field of sustainable development and environmental protection enthusiasts, who come from different fields, have different expertise, and benefit from different cultures. TESFEC is willing to work with China's industry leaders and enterprises to promote the ecological transformation of the two countries, strengthen cultural, technical and personnel exchanges, and promote strategic cooperation, and work towards carbon neutrality in both countries!

Dr. ZHOU introduced BCON as a global biodiversity solution, which he first proposed in 2021, aimed at slowing the rapid loss of biodiversity through human-based solutions (HbS). BCON is an innovative solution to "people's full participation in biodiversity conservation", which makes a positive contribution to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by reducing the biodiversity footprint and carrying out nature conservation in people's Daily production and life. As of November 2023, more than 203 Community Protected Areas (CCAfa) have been created to carry out neighbourhood biodiversity conservation. BCON has been identified by the 2023 Paris Peace Forum as one of the solutions to promote world peace. Dr. Zhou expressed his willingness to cooperate with TESFEC in the field of biodiversity protection, two-carbon targets, carbon taxes and other areas.
