CBCGDF Climate Change WG Developing Position Papers for UNFCCC COP28

The Climate Change Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation is developing its position paper to the UNFCCC COP28. A position paper by an international organization on a major international agenda should include several key elements. Firstly, it should clearly state the organization's stance on the issue at hand. This stance should be backed up with solid reasoning and evidence, highlighting the organization's objectives and principles.

The paper should also provide a comprehensive analysis of the background and context of the agenda, outlining the key challenges and opportunities presented. It should include an assessment of the potential impacts and implications of various courses of action, taking into consideration the organization's mandate and expertise.

Moreover, the position paper should articulate the organization's recommendations or proposed actions to address the agenda. These recommendations should be practical, feasible, and aligned with the organization's values and strategic goals. They should also take into account international norms and regulations, promoting cooperation and consensus-building among relevant stakeholders.

The position paper should also acknowledge the perspectives and concerns of other actors involved in the issue, demonstrating a willingness to engage in dialogue and collaboration. It should provide avenues for constructive engagement, such as forums or mechanisms for ongoing cooperation and coordination.

Lastly, the position paper should be concise, well-structured, and accessible to a wide range of audiences. It should use clear language, avoiding jargon or technical terms whenever possible. Supporting data, research findings, and references should be provided to enhance the credibility and validity of the organization's position.
