ZHOU Jinfeng Talks about the Interaction between Climate Change and Marine Economic Development | The Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum in 2023

The Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum was held at the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel on November 23-24, 2023. As the Strategic Forum of China Marine Economy Expo, it invited 60 high-level speakers from 11 countries including China, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Norway, Singapore, Iceland, Greece, India, and Germany discussing 10 topics around the 5 global marine central city evaluation indicators such as marine technology, marine industry, shipping and transportation, marine civilization, and marine cooperative governance.

 



Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), was invited to attend this forum and speak at the plenary session 1 "China’s Marine Economy by 2030". At the meeting, Dr. Zhou talked about the interaction between climate change and marine economic development. 

He talked about research on the seagrass restoration, the issue of plastic pollution in the ocean, and how to promote sustainable and climate friendly development of the blue economy. 

He introduced to the guests the scientific research, scientific popularization, and support for scientific research in biodiversity by the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), as well as the "Dual Carbon Special Fund" recently co-established by CBCGDF. He hopes to join hands with everyone in the future, with the new-era civilization as the guide and the science and technology as the core driving force, to promote the development of the marine economy.
