On the morning of November 7, 2023, Professor Gunter Pauli, the founder of Zero Emissions Research & Initiatives (ZERI), accepted an exclusive interview of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF).

Prof. Gunter Pauli is the founder of Zero Emissions Research & Initiatives (ZERI). He is recognized for his leading expertise in the high growth and innovative service sectors; technology forecasting and disruptive innovations; the creator of the standard of “zero emissions” (1989) adopted as an industry target, and “The Blue Economy” (2009) adopted by the United Nations, industry, and Governments around the world.


Maritime transport is the most polluting form of transport, even worse than aviation. Although maritime transport has improved its environmental footprint in past years, it still faces big challenges when it comes to decarbonizing and reducing pollution. Prof. Gunter shared how to reduce the adverse environmental impact of shipping in terms of technology or policy.

"Melodious Deer Chirping—CBCGDF Expert Interview" is a series of interview programs aimed at discussing hot topics related to the ecological environment through the sharing of viewpoints and debates. The program has been broadcasted live on various platforms of the matrix of "CBCGDF Media". Since the first episode in March 2022, a total of 14 editions have been held.
