ZHOU Jinfeng Meets with Laurent Fabius, former French Prime Minister & current President of the Conseil Constitutionel, Discussing Future Cooperation on Protecting Biodiversity and Responding to Climate Change

At noon on November 13, 2023, accompanied by the CBCGDF delegation, Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation CBCGDF), met with Mr. Laurent Fabius, former French Prime Minister & current President of the Conseil Constitutionel, and Mr. Yann Aguila, drafter of the Pacte Mondial pour l'Environnement (draft). 

Dr. Zhou introduced to Mr. Fabius the solution "Biodiversity Conservation in Neighborhoods" (BCON) submitted and selected by the 6th Paris Peace Forum(PPF). He also stated that during this trip to Paris, he met with many French environmental experts, and was told many entrepreneurship projects and related science popularization tools in the field of biodiversity protection which CBCGDF attaches great importance to and hopes to help promote in China.

Mr. Fabius strongly believes in solving biodiversity conservation issues from the people's perspective and believes that this concept and action should be promoted around the world. 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. He sincerely hopes that there can be more cooperation between China and France, especially in the urgent direction of environmental and biodiversity protection, China and France should work together to respond to the crisis and find practical solutions for now and the future. At this point, he looks forward to further in-depth discussions and cooperation with the CBCGDF.

Mr. Yaan Aguila mentioned Dr. ZHOU and CBCGDFs support for the Pacte Mondial pour l'Environnement(draft). CBCGDFs support is very strong in China and around the world.

Dr. Laurent Dingli, CBCGDF expert and Mr. Jingxiao HE, CBCGDFs youth representative also attended the meeting. Mr. Dingli, as an expert of CBCGDF, also emphasized the importance of Sino-French cooperation from a professional perspective.
