Several Suggestions on the Mangrove Restoration | ZHOU Talks about Ecological Civilization (Lecture 268)

On November 7, 2023, the research team of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), led by Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the CBCGDF, went to the ecological protection area of mangroves in Jinhai Bay, Beihai City for an onsite investigation.

The team investigated the protection situation of mangroves and the ecological protection and restoration of mangroves in the Langen operation area of Donggang District, Tieshan Port, Beihai, and then held discussions on mangrove protection and restoration work.

Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng gave a speech on the measures and practices of mangrove protection and restoration and put forward several opinions.Mangroves are not allowed to be planted in places where they have never grown before. Because this is nature, we should respect nature.Mangrove restoration does not mean non-intervention, but also requires intervention. Replanting is restoration, but where to replenish, how much to replenish, and how to replenish, first of all, need to be studied carefully.
