On November 23, 2023, at the Action Exchange meeting of Civil Societies in the context of new pollutant treatment actions, representatives of the Chemical Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) introduced the work of the “People vs. Plastics”.
To reduce marine plastic waste pollution, reduce the amount of plastic waste in China’s coastal, river, and sea areas, improve the marine ecological environment, protect marine biodiversity, and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the “Reduce & Pick-up Plastics” Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation has launched the “People vs. Plastics ” project, hoping to rely on the efforts of the whole society to reduce plastic pollution. The “People vs. Plastics ” Project Team hopes to provide data support for global control of plastic pollution and a factual basis for the formulation of national laws, policies, and standards through a series of public welfare activities.
