CBCGDF recommended Jiangsu conduct biodiversity surveys on uninhabited islands & ensure background data fully publicized

To actively respond to the call of the Department of Natural Resources of Jiangsu's "Jiangsu Coastal Zone and Marine Spatial Planning (2021-2035)" (Draft for Comments), China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) put forward 7 suggestions in total for reference in its scientific decision-making. Here's the [Recommendation 7]

Recommendation 7: Conduct biodiversity surveys on uninhabited islands, establish background data and make them fully open.

[Reason]: Uninhabited islands are usually relatively pristine ecological environments with rich biodiversity. Understanding the biological species and ecosystem structure on these islands can help protect this valuable natural heritage and prevent biodiversity loss and ecosystem destruction. Biodiversity surveys provide valuable scientific data that help researchers gain insight into biodiversity in different ecosystems. These data are important for ecology, environmental protection and climate change research. Therefore, in order to do a good job of ecological conservation or sustainable development and utilization of uninhabited islands, the prerequisite must be the establishment of background files and the clarification of "home base" data, as well as ensuring that such data are fully disclosed to facilitate access to information by the public and scientific and technological workers.
