CBCGDF: Biodiversity, Ecological Environment Experts and Public Interest Representatives Need to be Invited to Participate in the Preparation of “Acceptance Procedures for Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction Projects (Draft for Comments)”

The Department of Water Resources Engineering Construction of the Ministry of Water Resources recently issued a letter on soliciting opinions on the "Acceptance Procedures for Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction Projects (Draft for Comments)", and the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) responded positively to the call, and, after careful study and discussion, put forward five suggestions for reference in its scientific decision-making. The following is [Recommendation 5].

Recommendation 5: From the document of "Development Instructions", the main drafters of the acceptance protocol and the work they have done focus on water conservancy and hydropower, and lack the participation of the public interest representative parties. It is recommended that experts in biodiversity and ecology be invited to join the drafting expert team, and that public interest representatives be invited to actively participate.
