ZHOU Jinfeng Invited to Attend the Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum Discussing China’s Future Marine Economy

The Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum was being held at the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel on November 23-24, 2023. As the Strategic Forum of China Marine Economy Expo, it set 10 topics around the 5 global marine central city evaluation indicators such as marine technology, marine industry, shipping and transportation, marine civilization, and marine cooperative governance. 60 high-level speakers from 11 countries including China, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Norway, Singapore, Iceland, Greece, India, and Germany were invited to the forum. 

 

Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), was invited to attend this forum and speak at the plenary session 1 "China’s Marine Economy by 2030", which focus on the trends and factors that will drive the country's marine economy accelerated growth, setting the overall picture in comparison to the world marine economy evolution and focusing more specifically on sectors such as offshore renewable energy, shipping, fisheries and blue food.

 


 The session was moderated by Mr. GUO Jian, Country Manager, Norwegian Energy Partners China. Four guests invited in this session are: 

  • Klaus Zenkel, Vice President of the European Chamber and Chair of the South China Chapter;
  • ZHOU Jinfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Executive Committee Member of the IUCN Marine Connectivity Working Group;
  • CHI Fulin, President of China (Hainan) Reform and Development Research Institute;
  • PAN Xinchun, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Oceanic Development Foundation

Dr. Zhou made a speech on “International Trends in the Ocean Economy – A Changing World Requires Changing Ocean Management” and talked about the interaction between climate change and ocean economic development.
