Zhou Jinfeng Conducted Surveys on the Water Ecology of Tuojiang River and Jinjiang River in Chengdu
On the morning of October 25, 2023, Secretary-General Dr. Zhou Jinfeng from China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF)communicated with relevant departments on the environmental management and ecological restoration of Tuojiang and Jinjiang rivers in Chengdu. He pointed out that the concept of river and lake management and restoration needs to undergo a fundamental change, and at the same time, the construction of relevant local standard systems needs to be paid attention to. In the specific work of river and lake management and restoration, attention should be paid to the protection of river and lake biodiversity, including the protection of aquatic life, plants, animals, waterbirds and other diversity and habitats of important species. At the same time, attention should be paid to protecting the nature and integrity of rivers and lakes, and minimizing the impact of urban and rural construction on the natural hydrological cycle of rivers and lakes. Native species are an important resource bank for regional development. In the process of river and lake management and restoration, the protection of native species must be highlighted.
Biodiversity protection is the prerequisite and important starting point for regional green development, and an inevitable choice to promote the harmonious coexistence between man and nature. As a national first-level society, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) has focused on scientific research and public welfare during its more than 30 years of development, and continues to focus on China's biodiversity conservation and green development. CBCGDF has carried out research and practical exploration related to biodiversity conservation and green development in many regions in China. CBCGDF hopes to effectively promote biodiversity conservation and green development in Chengdu through cooperation in relevant aspects.
