Charting the Path to Conservation Success: CCSG Guidance for NBSAPs and GBF Implementation Released!

In a pivotal gathering this week, delegates to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) convened in Nairobi for the Twenty-fifth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-25). The focus of these discussions revolved around the urgent need to expedite the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. As an observer to the CBD, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) is very honored to join the discussions.

Marking this significant event, the IUCN WCPA Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group (CCSG), in collaboration with the WCPA Transboundary Conservation Specialist Group (TCSG), proudly announced the launch of a important document. This Guidance, accessible via the provided link [https://conservationcorridor.org/wp-content/uploads/CCSG-Guidance-for-NBSAPs-and-GBF-Implementation.pdf], offers a wealth of general and specific approaches, actionable steps, and invaluable tools aimed at seamlessly incorporating ecological connectivity considerations into the revised National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs).

Thanks to the leaders of the IUCN groups, CBCGDF's experts are very proud to be part of this joint effort and see this updates.

The genesis of this remarkable work was a result of dedicated teamwork, with many members from the CCSG and TCSG joining forces. This endeavor marks an initial contribution toward making critical information on connectivity and transboundary conservation more accessible. With great enthusiasm, we anticipate continued development and refinement of this guidance in the months and years to come.

The guidance document, aptly titled "Ecological Connectivity: Guidance for revised National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans and implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework," is a significant step toward fostering ecological connectivity and transboundary conservation on a global scale.
