The Shaanxi High Court Officially Accepted the Public Welfare Litigation issued by CBCGDF against Qinggangping Mining

On October 25th, 2023, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received documents including the "Notice of Acceptance of Cases" from the Shaanxi Provincial High People's Court (Shaanxi High Court). The appeal case of public welfare litigation issued by CBCGDF against Shaanxi Xunyi Qinggangping Mining Co., Ltd. (Qinggangping Mining) ]has been officially filed.


Qinggangping Mining has long illegally discharged water pollutants by using infiltration pits, private pipelines, illegal tampering, falsification of monitoring data, improper operation of water pollution prevention and control facilities, and other methods of evading supervision in discharging water pollutants, violating environmental impact assessment requirements, which resulted in ecological damage caused by water pollution. CBCGDF filed the lawsuit on July 6, 2023,
