MA Yong Talks about Tobacco Control and Indoor Air Quality: Improve Standard Content, Expand Application Scenarios, and Promote Group Standard Formulation| Tobacco Control Working Group of CBCGDF

On October 19, 2023, the Tobacco Control Working Group of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) successfully held a symposium on the implementation effectiveness of “Standards for Indoor Air Quality”and its impact on tobacco control in Beijing.

 



Based on participating experts’ speeches, Mr. MA Yong, Deputy Secretary General of CBCGDF, clarified the follow-up work of the Tobacco Control Working Group in his concluding remarks:

 

First, it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the existing indicators in the "Indoor Air Quality Standards", collect the literature and materials on the impact of tobacco on the environment, and do a good job in collecting basic information.

 

Second, we should increase opportunities for dissemination and utilization in terms of publicity, practice, and other aspects, continue to promote the inclusion of smoking control related indicators in the "Indoor Air Quality Standards", and try to incorporate them into some application scenarios as much as possible so that they can play a greater role.

 

Third, to consider incorporating smoking control related work into the formulation of relevant group standards, promote the continuous improvement of tobacco control in indoor public places, and make preparations for the formulation of relevant national standards.

 

Fourth, we hope to continue to work together with experts and scholars from various professional fields to promote the Environmental protection and Tobacco Control, and continuously broaden our thinking and improve working methods.
