Come and Make your Suggestions on the "Regulations on the Protection of Ancient and Famous Trees (Draft)" | CBCDGF Opinion Solicitation

 Ancient trees refer to trees that are more than 100 years old. Famous trees refer to trees that have important historical, cultural, landscape, and scientific value or have important commemorative meaning. Ancient and famous trees can not only fix carbon, but also release oxygen, and maintain water and soil. As a habitat for some organisms, ancient trees are a key national protected natural resource that regulates ecological balance and protects biodiversity.

As a witness to history and culture, there are endless poems related to ancient and famous trees in China. It also become the most important national natural resource and historical and cultural heritage. Adhering to comprehensive protection and legal protection are the basic principles for the protection of ancient and famous trees in the country.

In order to improve the legal system for the protection of ancient trees, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration has drafted the "Regulations on the Protection of Ancient and Famous Trees (Draft)" (Draft for Solicitation of Public Opinions) and publicly solicited opinions for it. The Political Research Department of the CBCDGF is now soliciting suggestions from the public. We will collect opinions and suggestions from all aspects of society, and submit them to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration to jointly contribute to the protection of the ancient and famous trees.
