Hu Deping Joins the Celebration of Jingmai Mountain's Inscriptions as World Heritage | CBCGDF Co-organises Beijing·Jingmai Mainstreaming Tea Cultural Event

On October 28, 2023, Mr. Hu Deping, the former Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and founding Chairman of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), attended the "World Heritage – Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape Promotion Event."

The cultural heritage of Jingmai Mountain is not only Puer's, Yunnan's, and China's but also a part of the world's heritage. The event aimed to celebrate the successful inclusion of "Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape" in the list of World Heritage Sites and promote the efforts to combine biodiversity conservation with cultural heritage protection. For centuries, the ancient tea forests, villages, and landscapes of Jingmai Mountain have served as a living model of harmonious coexistence between mountain nature and village residents.

The core beliefs and practices of "all things have a spirit" and "the unity of heaven and humanity" have allowed generations to thrive alongside tea, vividly showcasing how various ethnic groups understand, revere, and care for nature. It reflects the harmony between humans and nature and among people. Through this event, it aimed to raise public awareness and respect for the cultural heritage of Jingmai Mountain, convey the concept of "harmonious coexistence between humans and nature," highlight the universal value of the "Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape," expand the post-listing impact of Jingmai Mountain's World Heritage designation, contribute to investment attraction in Puer City, and foster biodiversity-friendly cultural and tourism cooperation in Jingmai Mountain.
