CBCGDF Deputy SG Gave a Speech on the Seminar of the 12th China-France Meetings of Law and Justice

On October 18, 2023, 12th China-France meetings of Law and Justice, a seminar with the theme of "Combating Waste Trafficking" was held at the Embassy of the French Republic in China. The seminar was hosted by Anne-Charlotte GROS, and started by the speeches given by Jean Francois REDONNET, liaison magistrate in China, and Ludovic ANDERS, Specialist of Technical Cooperation Division, Environment and Heritage Department.

In the first part of the seminar, MA Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), and RaphaĆ«lle JEANNEL, Senior lawyer and representative of the French National Bar Association, gave the speech on “The Legal Progress of Combating Waste Trafficking in China” and “Combating illegal waste trafficking” respectively. 

The second part is about “Investigative Powers of Customs in Combating International Waste Trafficking”. Followed by Nicolas DUTHILLEUL, and LI Yuming with the speech of "French Customs Actions to combat waste trafficking" and "Investigative Powers of Customs Agencies in Combating International Waste Trafficking". 

 

 Last but not least, Michel SASTRE, the vice-prosecutor of the Marseille Prosecutor's Office, gave the speech on "Anti-Waste Trafficking Operations and Criminal Response Measures Implemented by the Specialized Center of the Marseille Prosecutor's Office". WANG Le, a lawyer from Yenlex Law Firm, gave a speech about “Criminal Judicial Practice in Combating Waste Trafficking in China”.


The seminar ended with a discussion between more than 30 participants from China and France. Mr. Jean Francois REDONNET believed that this event also demonstrated the determination of the two countries to combat waste trafficking. France and China will actively and continuously work together on combating waste trafficking in the future.
