Desertification Control Plants Crushed by Vehicles. Responsible Tourism Needs Attention

Recently, the Responsible Tourism Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) noticed the news that during the National Day holidays, a large number of plants used for sand control in the Teng ko erh Desert were crushed by off-road vehicles, destroying tens of thousands of plants.

The special climatic conditions and extremely harsh natural environment of the Teng ko erh Desert such as dryness, water shortage and strong winds makes the ecological environment in the region extremely fragile and the vegetation coverage is low. Therefore, sand control plants play a very important role in desertification management. However, due to the lack of relevant protection awareness among self-driving tourists, tens of thousands of plants have been crushed.

With the continuous recovery and consumption upgrading of the tourism market, the of environmental awareness and behavior cultivation during travel should also be widely valued. If everyone can understand responsible tourism as early as possible and practice responsible tourism obligations, then these disharmonious behaviors that occur during travel can be significantly reduced.

The Responsible Tourism Working Committee of CBCGDF has been using methods such as science popularization, event preparation, and personal experience to arouse the public's awareness of responsible tourism. Responsible tourism places a strong emphasis on individual behavior, and both tourists and tour operators must be proactive in ensuring the well-being of local communities.
