Liuba's Path to China's First National Biodiversity Museum: Insights from Dr. Jinfeng Zhou
During a field biodiversity research expedition in Liuba, Shaanxi in mid-October 2023, Dr. Jinfeng Zhou, Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), shared his vision with the Hanzhong Radio and Television Station. Dr. Zhou proposed striving to establish China's first national-level Biodiversity Museum, a place where scientific research, nature conservation, and the pursuit of people's well-being could intersect and contribute jointly.
Liuba County, situated in the northern part of Hanzhong City in Shaanxi Province, is blessed with abundant biological resources, boasting a remarkable forest coverage of 91.23% and a rich biodiversity. Its ecological environment has become a significant advantage for Liuba's high-quality development. Dr. Zhou's three-day expedition in Liuba aimed to provide valuable insights for Liuba's strategy of becoming an "ecological county, a county known for medicinal fungi, and a county with a thriving tourism industry." These efforts will enhance scientific decision-making for local ecological civilization and green development.
