Zhu Xuezheng, Representative of the IPBES10 Delegation of the CBCGDF, Will Attend the IPBES 10 Plenary
The 10th Plenary Session of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) represents a momentous occasion for the organization. During this session, government representatives, scientists, experts, and stakeholders from across the globe will convene to jointly discuss and advance initiatives related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable management. Zhu Zhengxue, a youth representative from the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), will be a member of the CBCGDF's delegation of IPBES-10 to Europe.
The conference is scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 28 August to 2 September 2023. It will cover a range of essential topics and areas aimed at enhancing global cooperation and action for biodiversity and ecosystem services. On 27 August 2023, there will be regional discussions and a stakeholder event to set a positive tone for the conference prior to the 10th meeting of the IPBES General Assembly.
Zhu Zhengxue, a representative of CBCGDF, is planning to attend the conference in person in Bonn, Germany, to represent CBCGDF. He will be an excellent youth delegate, representing China and expressing its perspectives on the matter.
Zhu Zhengxue is a One-Health Ph.D. candidate at the University of Camerino in Italy. He also serves as the representative in Italy on behalf of CBCGDF. His research concentrates primarily on forest biodiversity and national forest parks, with specific attention given to the beech forests in Central Italy. In the past, he represented the CBCGDF in various international events, such as the 15th Green Nature Conservation International Media Forum held in Pisa, Italy, the 8th Meeting of the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (IPTGRFA-GB8) held at the FAO headquarters in Rome, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature World Conservation Congress (IUCN WCC) held in France.
During this conference, Zhu Zhengxue will concentrate on the practical applications of biodiversity. He will participate in discussions and exchange views on a range of topics, including biodiversity, water, food, health, and the intersection of business and biodiversity. The aim is to improve the participation of Chinese scientists in the decision-making and management of international civil technology organizations by promoting international academic exchanges. In this way, the objective is to exploit the resources of these international establishments fully, contributing innovative ideas to the building of an ecological civilization. This endeavor will enable China's voice to be part of the international conversation and actively support global biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization efforts.
