CBCGDF Is Actively Preparing to Participate in the Twenty-fifth Meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 25)

 As an observer organization of the Convention on Biological Diversity, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will actively participate in its conferences and activities, and prepare for the application for relevant side events.

 

The twenty-fifth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) will be held from 16 to 20 October 2023 and will be hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya.

 

Provisional agenda

1.Opening of the meeting.

2.Organizational matters: election of officers and adoption of the agenda and organization of work.

3.Facilitating the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the monitoring of its progress:

(a) Monitoring framework for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework;

(b) Mechanisms for planning, monitoring, reporting and review;

(c) Approaches to identifying scientific and technical needs to support the implementation of the Framework, including its implication for the programmes of work of the Convention;

(d) Plant conservation.

4.Findings from the assessments by the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and their implications for the work undertaken under the Convention.

5.Invasive alien species.

6.Sustainable wildlife management.

7.Biodiversity and climate change.

8.Other matters.

9.Adoption of the report.

10.Closure of the meeting.

 

The designation of representatives to attend the SBSTTA 25 meeting should be submitted through

an official letter of nomination addressed to the CBD Executive Secretary, sent as a scanned e-mail attachment to: secretariat@cbd.int, by 15 September 2023. Information regarding online registration will be provided in due course. Early registration is encouraged.
