Sara Platto, Secretary-General of CBCGDF-BASE, Talks about Reasonable and Healthy Diets at the Regular Working Meeting

On the afternoon of August 14, 2023, Sara Platto, Secretary-General of the Biology and Technology Ethics Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF-BASE), together with the relevant colleagues of the International Department attended the regular working meeting.  

Sara Platto launched a campaign named "1 YEAR CHALLENGE FOR EARTH"at the regular meeting.She pointed out that whether it is for the consideration of human health, or to achieve sustainable development, double carbon goals and reduce human carbon footprint, we should choose a healthy and balanced diet, especially a reasonable combination of meat and vegetables . A healthy diet refers to a diet that contains a complete range of nutrients, sufficient quantities, and appropriate proportions, and is in balance with the needs of the human body without causing excessive calorie intake.

Dr. Sara Platto, professor of the School of Life Sciences, Jianghan University, winner of the 2021 "Chinese Government Friendship Award", is currently the Secretary-General of the Biological and Scientific Ethics Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation. For many years, she  has been committed to animal behavior research, wild animal rescue, animal protection science education, and improvement of animal welfare.
