CBCGDF 2023 Global Environmental Governance Capacity Building Workshop (No. 78): Summarizing the Work of Summer Interns and Volunteers

On the morning of August 28, 2023, the International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), the "Ocean and Wetland" Working Group, and the IPBES Working Group jointly held the 2023 Global Environmental Governance Capacity Building Workshop (No. 78).

The relevant project leaders summarize the final report of the 2023 summer internship, trainee students, and young volunteers. The summary report includes: 1. The summer internship of the students participating in the "Sustainable Development Talent Training Program" jointly initiated by the International Department of CBCGDF and Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (BNU-HKBU UIC) was closed; 2. The work progress and completion of the internship of two doctoral students from Ocean University of China; 3. The summary of the short-term internship of two undergraduates from Peking University and a Korean student.

The head of the International Department of CBCGDF emphasized the importance of actively participating in global environmental governance, especially opening quotas for youth participation and exercise on various occasions. For example, the IPBES10 meeting provided a good platform for young people. In addition, we should be careful not to limit ourselves to one meeting or a short period of time; we must strive to provide long-term support for the cultivation of young talents, including follow-up support for interested students to apply for United Nations interns and apply for prestigious schools for overseas study. But these must be realistic, based on real performance and hard work, and the person in charge of the relevant work must be responsible and responsible.
