About "OceanWetlands"(海洋与湿地) of CBCGDF Media

OceanWetlands (海洋与湿地) is a professional new media platform established by the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), a national scientific society and leading conservation NGO. The media is operated by CBCGDF's Marine and Wetlands Working Group and stands as one of the professional platforms under the "CBCGDF Media" umbrella, which receives a readership of 30 million on daily basis.

Dedicated to reporting cutting-edge developments in oceans and wetlands, "OceanWetlands" offers probono support to academic discussions and serves global marine and wetland scientists as well as environmentalists. Its mission revolves around providing information and fostering collaboration, ultimately safeguarding marine biodiversity and advancing global cooperation.

With a commitment to delivering high-quality, forefront content, this specialized platform caters to readers, researchers, policymakers, and the general public in fields such as ocean, wetlands, biodiversity conservation, connectivity, ecological restoration, etc.

In terms of content, the platform consistently tracks the latest updates from major environmental conventions, intergovernmental organizations, and international bodies. This includes, but is not limited to, CBD, RAMSAR, CMS, CITES, UNFCCC, BRS, BBNJ, UNCLOS, UNEP/UNEA, ITPGRFA, IPCC, IPBES, ISA, IUCN, ISO, EBP, as well as the ongoing developments in negotiations for end plastic pollution treaty, DSI governance, and scientific ethics governance, etc.

"OceanWetlands" warmly welcomes collaborations from around the globe. For instance, in late 2022, during the 14th Conference of the Parties of the Ramsar Convention, OceanWetlands hosted two thematic side events featured in intertidal wetlands and Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood (BCON) respectively. Additionally, the platform has supported events such as the 7th River-Lake Ecology Forum (April 2023) and the 2nd Advanced Workshop on Key Technologies for Aquatic Ecological Restoration and River-Lake Long-Term Management Informatization (August 2023), contributing to the dissemination of knowledge during these conferences.
