The International Department of CBCGDF Was Invited to Participate in the Renewables Grid Initiative’s “Connecting Energy” Seminar Series

The International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) was invited to participate in the Renewables Grid Initiative’s “Connecting Energy” seminar series to explore the complex relationship among power grids, energy transition, and biodiversity.

The first online conference will be held on September 21, 2023, on the topic: Connecting Renewable Energy - The Role of the Grid in the Transition to a Renewable Energy-Based Energy System. The session will focus in particular on the challenges of accelerating grid deployment and the impact of infrastructure on biodiversity.

The second online conference will take place on 12 October 2023 on the topic: Connecting Europe - The European Commission's Role in Selecting and Co-financing Grid Expansion. The meeting will delve into the role of the European Commission in selecting and co-financing grid expansion. Participants will also gain insight into how these policy frameworks create a European grid that delivers on the commitments of the Paris Agreement.

The third offline conference will be held in Berlin, Germany on November 8 and 9, 2023. The theme of the conference is: Connecting Biodiversity - Harmonizing Nature and Power Grids, with a focus on bird protection. Biodiversity experts will share their knowledge and insights, including the potential impact of electricity infrastructure on bird populations, the successes and failures of some technological solutions, and the challenges of implementing them.
