ZHOU Jinfeng Attends the Opening Ceremony of the Final of the 3rd National College Students' Low-Carbon Circular Science and Technology Innovation Competition

On September 7, 2024the final of the 3rd National College Students' Low-Carbon Circular Science and Technology Innovation Competition was held in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF), attended the opening ceremony of the final of the 3rd National College Students' Low-Carbon Circular Science and Technology Innovation Competition.

Zhou Jinfeng delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer of the competition. He pointed out that China is currently in a critical period and window period of "carbon peak". We must seize the opportunity and take advantage of the momentum to ensure that "carbon peak" is achieved before 2030 and "carbon neutrality" is achieved before 2060. It is hoped that this event will be made into an influential college student subject competition in the country, and the competition will be used as a guide to promote the continuous and in-depth research in green and low-carbon related fields, improve the quality of talent training, and use competitions to promote learning, teaching, and greening, and consciously practice a green and low-carbon lifestyle.

It is reported that a total of 199 teams from 27 provinces across the country successfully advanced to the finals of this competition. The final was conducted in the form of an online defense, attended by 18 expert judges from universities, research institutes, social organizations and enterprises including Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nankai University, Tianjin University, University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Forestry University and China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
