On August 27, 2024,the Academic Conference on Building Ecological Security Barrier and Green Development & the CBCGDF Green Link International Cooperation Fund Establishment Conference was held at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Avilmed Dashitseren, Director of the Institute of Geography and Geoecology, MAS and the UNESCO Chair on Environmental Science in Eastern Central Asia, was invited to deliver a speech.

Prof. Avilmed Dashitseren said: “Global climate change and desertification have become a major issue of concern, and countries need to join hands and take joint action. Mongolia has a plan to "plant 1 billion trees", which is also a typical example of adapting to and responding to climate change. The Mongolian government supports China's "Belt and Road" initiative and has implemented many projects, which has also benefited Mongolia's development. Looking to the future, our cooperative research and demonstration area construction need to be further expanded.”
