CBCGDF Summer Volunteer Sharing Internship Experiences: Really Looking Forward to the Day When the Report Being Released
From early July to the end of August, this nearly two-month internship has really benefited me a lot.First of all, I have gained the ability to write and operate public accounts and Baijiahao articles that I have always wanted to learn. Secondly, through the "ESG Guidelines" compiled by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for listed companies, I learned ESG-related knowledge from scratch, and on the basis of understanding, I can use relevant knowledge to analyze and comment on the "ESG Reports" of various listed companies. This is a brand new field for me.
In addition, during the internship, I also undertook the relevant work on wildlife protection for the China Biological and Scientific Ethics (BASE) public account sponsored by the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF). Through writing three articles on turtles, black bears, and cats, I have a deeper thinking about the current situation and future development of animal protection.
Another thing that impressed me deeply was that when writing articles, I deeply discovered that the ability to search for information is really important. Whether it is searching for official policy information or related news and papers, we need to use our own information retrieval ability to obtain it. This is a crucial skill.
If I have to say regret, it is that I was not able to follow the "Sustainable Development and ESG Observation" project team from beginning to end, and I was not able to participate in the internship offline throughout the whole process and really work with the teachers in the project team.
However, I am also very grateful to our school's Globalization and Developmen (GAD) major and CBCGDF for providing us, students who are new to the field of sustainable development, with valuable opportunities to participate in work. All teachers are also very serious, careful and professional. Now the report written by the project team has taken shape, and I really look forward to the day when this report is actually released.
