How Conferences and Exhibitions Practice "Carbon Neutrality"? Welcome to Adopt the Assessment Guide | CBCGDF Standards Working Committee

To support the achievement of dual carbon goals, the Standards Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) released the "Guidelines for the Implementation and Assessment of Carbon Neutrality in Conference and Exhibition Activities" on August 28, 2024. The guidelines officially came into effect on September 3, 2024.

The guidelines stipulate the processes, work content, and evaluation results for the preparation, implementation, conclusion, and assessment stages of carbon neutrality implementation and evaluation in conference and exhibition activities. They are applicable to the implementation and evaluation of carbon neutrality in conference and exhibition activities and can also serve as a reference for carbon neutrality in large-scale competitions or other major events. Organizers of conference and exhibition activities need to integrate the concept of emission reduction throughout the entire activity process, implement greenhouse gas emission reduction within the emission boundaries of each stage of the conference and exhibition activities according to the carbon management plan, and achieve carbon neutrality through carbon offsetting on the basis of minimizing greenhouse gas emissions in the activities.

By adopting and implementing the "Guidelines for the Implementation and Assessment of Carbon Neutrality in Conference and Exhibition Activities," the concept of green and low-carbon can be widely disseminated throughout society, advocating for the public to actively practice a low-carbon lifestyle.
