ESG is a Norm Required by the New Civilization and is Related to Everyone's Living Environment | ZHOU Talks about New Civilization (Lecture 304)
On September 26, 2024, Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) was invited by Fuding Technology's "Carbon Explore" column to give a keynote speech. He exchanged and discussed with the live audience on the theme of "How Enterprises Practice ESG".
Dr.
ZHOU vividly reviewed the four major civilization processes in the development
of human history and the necessity of ESG in the era of new civilization. He
also discussed how enterprises practice ESG through rich and wonderful
international and domestic cases, as well as the opportunities and challenges
on the road to development.
Dr. ZHOU said that ESG is a norm required by the new civilization. It is not only a tool to help investors avoid risks, but also a more important role to constrain investment and operation enterprises based on the quality of human environmental survival as an evaluation standard. With years of research and practice in the field of biodiversity conservation and green development, CBCGDF drafted and formulated the "ESG Evaluation Standard" (T/CGDF 00011-2021) on September 29, 2021, which has been implemented on October 4, 2021. Dr. ZHOU also shared his rich experience in helping domestic and international companies and departments achieve green and sustainable development, and conducted online exchanges on how companies involved in hazards and chemicals can achieve sustainable development.
