Industry Experts Gathered Discussing the Expansion of the Carbon Emission Trading Market | CBCGDF Legal Working Committee Co-hosts the Meeting

On September 14, 2024, the Legal Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and the Beijing Zhixing Legal Research Center co-hosted a discussion meeting on the "National Carbon Emission Trading Market Coverage of Cement, Steel, and Aluminum Electrolysis Industries Work Plan (Draft for Comments)."

 


The meeting was chaired by Mr. MA Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of CBCGDF, and Mr. WANG Kefeng, Director of the Beijing Zhixing Legal Research Center and a member of the Executive Council of the Beijing Law Society, was invited to deliver an opening speech.

 

The background of this meeting is to accelerate the expansion of the coverage of the national carbon emission trading market. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has formulated the "Work Plan" with reference to the mature construction and management experience of the power generation industry, and publicly solicited opinions from the society. At the discussion meeting, the experts conducted an all-round and in-depth discussion from the fields of theory and practice, and put forward a number of opinions and suggestions on the further improvement of the "Work Plan". The meeting was live-streamed on CBCGDF media platforms with a total of 612 participants online.
